Tao Of Events 2021

Tao Of Events - December 2021 - Nostrand Social

                                                               December Brunch & Dinner

The Tao of Events December 2021 decided to team up with Nostrand Social @ 706 Nostrand Avenue to try a different concept. We would have a Jazz Brunch and Dinner and Livestream it to patrons who could not attend in person.

This started with the Greg Lewis Trio, The Hammond Organ master is better known as "The Organ Monk" this is because of his love of playing Thelonius Monk compositions. If you are aware as a musician with Monk then you know he was known for his complex music. Looking forward to having him for Black Jazz Month.

Our second featured artist was Karuna Shinsho a new rising star in the Jazz world who had three Grammy nominations. Although she didn't get the Grammy she is still growing and will be around next year during Women's History Month.  Karuna did the first set with Bossa Nova inspired by Jobim. The second set was more jazz standards. Keep an eye for this Lady in 2022.

Our last featured artist was Yayoi Ikawa, and she brought along her version of Spiritual Jazz Music taking you through a journey of serious music, music for those with an intimate understanding of how musicians interact and expand the pieces played.  Yayoi is on another level learning from so many mentors in the jazz community and then taking it in and bringing forth great music. We will see Yayoi in March, but keep an eye out because this lady is always working.

Get ready because Tao of Events is back, and we will be posting events for Ed Jackson's Room in Queens and Bill's Place in Harlem.. So, Stay Tuned
